|3dRender.com : Glossary : Cheating|
Cheating - Changing or enhancing your lighting in ways that are not motivated by existing light sources. For example, we would say "I cheated that fill light brighter than it really would have been, in order to call attention to the characters entering the woods." Or "We cheated the exterior light more blue during the scene when the character is crying by the window." Or "Having the monitor image reflected in the character's glasses is a bit of a cheat, but it helps the audience know what he is reading."
